Germany closes Oktoberfest over bomb threat

German police shut down Oktoberfest following a bomb threat linked to a recent explosion in northern Munich. The blast, believed to be intentionally set during a domestic dispute, resulted in one fatality. Authorities found a letter from the suspect threatening Oktoberfest and conducted searches at the festival grounds for explosives. A burned-out van and damaged car were also discovered at the scene.

Theresienwiese will remain closed until 5.00pm for the time being," officials announced. Local residents faced evacuations due to a 200m exclusion zone around the explosion site.
