Comcast's MSNBC to change name to MS NOW in Versant spinoff

MSNBC will change its name to My Source News, Opinion and the World (MS NOW) as part of its spinoff into Versant, according to CEO Mark Lazarus. The rebranding includes updating logos, removing the NBC peacock symbol. Lazarus emphasized the name change allows for "distinct brand identities" as the network becomes independent.

MSNBC President Rebecca Kutler stated they will invest in a marketing campaign for the new brand while maintaining their core mission. Comcast is spinning off several cable channels but will retain NBC's broadcast network and streaming services. This trend mirrors similar moves by other companies as viewers shift to streaming platforms.
