Chinese company launches Mexico-built satellites

CAS Space, a Chinese rocket company, successfully launched its Kinetica 1 rocket, carrying seven satellites, including two built by the Mexican company ThumbSat. The launch took place from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center.

ThumbSat developed the miniature satellites, ThumbSat-1 and ThumbSat-2, each weighing about 100 gramsThumbSat-1 aims to capture a selfie in orbit, while ThumbSat-2 combines science and creativity.

The collaboration marks a significant achievement in Chinese-Mexican space cooperation. CAS Space states that this project strengthens international collaboration in space exploration. To further engagement, ThumbSat will establish ground stations in Mexico for students to track satellite signals.
