Thousands of US Army paratroopers arrive in Middle East as buildup intensifies

Over the weekend, 2,500 Marines arrived in the Middle East as the Trump administration considers options for operations against Iran. The move follows the deployment of soldiers from the elite 82nd Airborne Division.

Potential missions include seizing Kharg Island, securing oil routes, and uranium extraction. As discussions unfold, Trump warned Iran to open the Strait of Hormuz or face U.S. attacks.

Though no decisions have been made about deploying troops in Iran, a larger buildup is expected. Since February 28, U.S. operations have targeted over 11,000 sites, resulting in over 300 injured and 13 fatalities among service members.
