House approves final spending bills

The House recently passed a $1.2 trillion spending package aimed at preventing another government shutdown. This legislation includes funding for key departments, such as Defense and Education, but sparked controversy over Homeland Security allocations, particularly regarding Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

The bill secured a narrow passage with a 220-207 vote, despite fierce opposition from Democrats concerned about Trump's deportation policies. Key Democratic leaders criticized the bill, stating, “Taxpayer dollars are being misused to brutalize U.S. citizens… This extremism must end.”

The Senate will now review the package as the deadline looms.
