Trump says he won't sign any bills into law until SAVE America Act passes

SUMMARY

President Trump has threatened to refuse signing any bills until the Senate approves the SAVE America Act, which aims to change voting requirements ahead of the midterm elections. He insisted on “MUST SHOW VOTER I.D. & PROOF OF CITIZENSHIP” and limited mail-in ballots.

Trump urged Senate Majority Leader John Thune to use a talking filibuster to pass the bill, which has already passed the House. Despite Trump's pressure, Thune has maintained his stance on the 60-vote threshold.

While the Act has strong support from House Republicans, Democrats argue it could hinder voter participation.
