Denmark officials set to skip Davos as Greenland spat escalates

Danish officials will not attend the World Economic Forum in Davos due to a growing dispute over Greenland. The forum confirmed the Danish government's absence this week.

Tensions escalated when President Trump threatened tariffs on goods from eight NATO allies, prompting the EU to consider tariffs on $108 billion of US goods.

Trump announced a 10% tariff starting February 1, increasing to 25% in June if there's no agreement on the "purchase of Greenland." This came after NATO allies planned military exercises in the area to counter threats from China and Russia.
