Millions of Instagram account details leaked

Millions of Instagram users have been affected by a data breach that exposed personal details and triggered numerous password reset emails. Approximately 17.5 million accounts had sensitive information released on the dark web, including usernames, emails, and phone numbers.

Cyber experts believe the leaked data may be used for identity theft and fraud. Security firm Malwarebytes reported the breach, tracing the initial leak back to an Instagram API vulnerability in 2024.

The dataset was later offered for free on BreachForums by a user named 'Solonnik.' Users are advised to check their email security and enable two-factor authentication.
