Three people arrested in London on suspicion of spying for Russian intelligence

Three men were arrested in London for allegedly assisting Russian intelligence services under the National Security Act, 2023. The suspects, aged 48, 45, and 44, were detained in west and central London, with ongoing searches at their addresses.

Commander Dominic Murphy stated, "We're seeing an increasing number of who we would describe as 'proxies' being recruited by foreign intelligence services." He warned that those contacted for criminal activity by foreign states should reconsider, as investigations will lead to serious penalties for involved individuals.

In May, six members of a Russian spy ring were jailed for espionage across Europe.
