$300 to self deport

DHS increases offer for undocumented migrants to $3000

SUMMARY

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has increased its "exit bonus" for undocumented migrants who voluntarily leave the U.S. from $1,000 to $3,000. Participants must register and leave by December 31, 2025, to receive free airfare and be exempt from some fines. Secretary Kristi Noem stated that those who don't accept this offer will be "found," "arrested," and "never return" to the U.S.

The program aims to reduce costs associated with traditional deportations. Since January 2025, DHS reports that 1.9 million undocumented immigrants have self-deported, though these figures are yet to be independently verified.
