Trump gunman left a letter detailing his plans, prosecutors say

A man allegedly attempted to assassinate Donald Trump while he was golfing in West Palm Beach, Florida. Ryan Wesley Routh reportedly left a letter stating, “this was an assassination attempt on Donald Trump, but I failed you.”

One letter, addressed to “The World” said: “This was an assassination attempt on Donald Trump but I failed you. I tried my best and gave it all the gumption I could muster. It is up to you now to finish the job; and I will offer $150,000 to whomever can complete the job.”

Authorities found Routh with a rifle and ammunition near the golf course. He had a detailed list of Trump’s appearances and a Google search about traveling to Mexico. Routh, 58, was charged with firearm offenses and is scheduled for a detention hearing.

His background includes attempts to join the fight in Ukraine and expressing disappointment in Trump, saying, “I will be glad when you gone.”
