Supreme Court rejects Alex Jones' appeal of $1.4 billion defamation judgment

The Supreme Court has rejected Alex Jones's appeal regarding a $1.4 billion defamation judgment from his claims about the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting. Jones argued that he was wrongfully held liable without a full trial on evidence from victims' families.

The court did not seek responses from the families before making its decision. Jones, who filed for bankruptcy in late 2022, claimed the families couldn't hope to collect the judgment. He faces a separate $49 million judgment in Texas for similar claims.

A judge previously issued a default ruling against him due to failures to comply with court orders.
