England: Civil unrest in Sunderland after Southport stabbing

Demonstrations erupted in Liverpool and Sunderland following the tragic deaths of three girls at a dance class.

In Sunderland, a car was set ablaze, and police faced attacks as rioters threw cans and stones. In Liverpool, riot police intervened at a mosque after far-Right protesters clashed with counter-protesters.

Police have increased patrols and implemented stop-and-search powers in response to growing violence. Over 50 officers were injured, and many protesters arrested during the unrest.

The British Muslim community raised concerns, with mosques enhancing security measures. North East Mayor Kim McGuinness condemned the violence, stating, “It’s crime and disorder. You don’t speak for Sunderland.”
