Jaguar Land Rover admits 'data affected' by cyber attack

Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) has disclosed that a cyber attack has impacted its data, resulting in halted production at its plants. Initially, JLR stated there was no evidence of data theft, but hackers claimed they stole customer information. The disruption has raised concerns about a potential ransom demand. JLR has been working with cybersecurity experts to manage the incident. A spokesman remarked, “We are very sorry for the continued disruption this incident is causing.”

The attacks, attributed to the group Scattered Spider, exploited a flaw in SAP software. JLR has shut down systems since becoming aware of the breach, affecting sales and repairs. Staff may not return to work until at least Monday.
