Western intelligence reports Iran rearming with China's support despite UN sanctions

Western intelligence indicates that Iran is intensifying its ballistic missile program despite UN sanctions. Recent shipments of sodium perchlorate, essential for missile production, have reportedly arrived from China at Iran's Bandar Abbas port. This influx commenced following a UN sanctions reimposition on September 29, after a brief conflict with Israel.

European sources report that Iran acquired around 2,000 tons of sodium perchlorate, which could be used to replace missiles lost during the war. Furthermore, while the substance is not explicitly banned, experts note it falls under broader sanctions against materials for missile production.

China maintains its commitment to peacefully resolving the Iranian nuclear issue and opposes sanctions it views as unconstructive.
