Musk's XAI approved for use across US government agencies

Elon Musk's xAI has signed a deal with the General Services Administration, allowing federal agencies to acquire its AI models at a discounted rate. Agencies can purchase Grok 4 and Grok 4 Fast for 42 cents until March 2027. This agreement follows previous controversies related to the chatbot's antisemitic content.

Despite initial setbacks, the GSA evaluated xAI's models and deemed Grok 4 safe for use. As part of the agreement, xAI will provide engineering support and training for agencies using the model. GSA emphasizes that "widespread access to advanced AI models is essential" for government efficiency. Concerns about Grok's past behavior persist, prompting advocacy groups and legislators to call for scrutiny.
