Netanyahu expected to visit White House on Monday, sources say
SUMMARY
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu plans to visit the White House on Monday, making him the first foreign leader to meet President Trump in person regarding tariffs. They will also discuss the Iran nuclear crisis and the Gaza war. However, Netanyahu may need to cancel upcoming hearings in his corruption trial for the visit to occur.
Israel attempted to avoid Trump's tariffs by lifting tariffs on U.S. products, but this was unsuccessful. Trump suggested the visit during a call with Netanyahu while he was in Budapest. Initially, the visit was expected later in April, but plans have shifted to earlier discussions.
Key topics will include tariffs, Iran’s nuclear ambitions, and efforts for a Gaza ceasefire.
