Putin says he wants Kamala Harris to win 2024 election

Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed support for Vice President Kamala Harris in the upcoming U.S. presidential election, contrary to his stance on former President Trump.

Putin humorously mentioned Harris's expressive laughter, suggesting it might lead to fewer sanctions against Russia.

His remarks followed accusations that Russia was involved in attempts to "influence the election with pro-Russian propaganda."

At the Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok, Putin noted that President Biden was Russia's preferred candidate, and since Biden advised his supporters to back Harris, Russia would follow suit.

He stated, "Ultimately, the choice is up to the American people, and we will respect that choice." A Kremlin spokesperson remarked that Harris is seen as a more predictable opponent.
