Review Trump's military strikes on cartel boats
SUMMARY
U.S. lawmakers are calling for a review of military strikes against vessels suspected of drug trafficking in the Caribbean and Pacific. This follows a report alleging Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth ordered all crew members killed during a September attack. Some lawmakers expressed skepticism about the report but raised serious legal concerns. Senator Tim Kaine stated, "This rises to the level of a war crime if it's true."
Investigations by Congressional leaders have been initiated. Hegseth claimed military operations are lawful under U.S. and international law. Bipartisan support for oversight of the actions is evident among various committee leaders.
