Harrods warns customers of data theft in latest IT breach

Harrods Ltd., the luxury London department store, reported a data breach involving customer information. Personal data including names and contact details were stolen from a "third-party provider," although the specific provider remains unnamed due to an ongoing investigation.

This incident is part of a larger trend of cyberattacks impacting major UK businesses in 2023, including Marks & Spencer and Jaguar Land Rover.

A Harrods spokesperson emphasized that "No Harrods system has been compromised." The stolen data did not include passwords or payment information, and affected customers have been notified.
