Russia warns US not to help Israel militarily against Iran

Russia has warned the U.S. against providing military assistance to Israel amid ongoing airstrikes between Iran and Israel. Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov stated that such aid could "radically destabilise the entire situation" in the Middle East. The head of Russia's foreign intelligence, Sergei Naryshkin, described the situation as critical.

U.S. discussions reportedly include options for military action against Iranian nuclear sites. President Trump previously suggested targeting Iranian leaders but claimed immediate action was not planned.

Following Israel's surprise airstrikes against Iran’s nuclear facilities, which Russia condemned, Iran has retaliated with missile attacks. President Putin has called for an end to hostilities.
