Byd unveils world's largest 14.5 MWh DC energy storage system

BYD has launched the "HaoHan," the world's largest standalone DC energy storage system with a capacity of 14.5 MWh, significantly exceeding the industry standard of 6-7 MWh. Introduced at the International Digital Energy Expo in Shenzhen, the HaoHan can cut the number of required units for large installations by more than half and reduce land use by a third.

Powered by BYD's advanced Blade Battery cell, it offers a cycle life of over 10,000 cycles and optimizes lifecycle costs to under CNY 0.1 per kilowatt-hour. The system also integrates a blockchain-based carbon tracking system, aiming to meet evolving environmental regulations. BYD plans to deploy the HaoHan for gigawatt-scale projects by 2025.
