2 fans died and an officer is in a coma after Champions League game in France

Two fans died and a police officer is in a coma following nationwide celebrations for Paris Saint-Germain's historic Champions League victory. A 17-year-old boy was stabbed in Dax, and a man was killed in Paris when his scooter was struck by a car. Both incidents are under investigation.

A police officer suffered severe eye injuries from fireworks and is in an artificial coma.

A total of 294 people were arrested for football-related violence and looting in Paris as France’s Interior Minister, Bruno Retailleau, described troublemakers as ‘Barbarians’.

Fans celebrated exuberantly in places like the Place de la Bastille, where the atmosphere remained lively and joyous. Security was heightened with 5,400 officers deployed across Paris.
