Heatwaves in Europe boost China's AC industry

SUMMARY

China's air conditioner exports are surging due to heatwaves across Europe. Demand for cooling appliances is rising, with only about 20% of European households owning air conditioning. In the UK and Germany, penetration rates are even lower at 5% and 3%.

Exports to the EU and UK reached $1.39 billion from January to May, a 20.25% increase year-on-year. Hisense Group reports significant sales growth in various European countries. General Manager Feng Xuezhi noted, "The extreme weather is changing European consumers' perception about air conditioning products and their willingness to purchase such items." Companies are focusing on energy efficiency to meet European standards.
