'Safer' Roundup weed killer can still damage your organs

A recent study reveals that the herbicide Diquat, used in Roundup's updated formulas, poses significant health risks. It is "200 times more chronically toxic than glyphosate," which has long been controversial.

Living near golf courses treated with such chemicals reportedly increases the risk of Parkinson’s disease by 126%. Diquat can lead to severe health issues, including damage to organs and disruption of gut health.

Diquat is widely applied in U.S. agriculture, but due to its negative effects on human health, it has been banned in the UK, EU, China, and other countries.

Despite this, the EPA has not prioritized banning Diquat, leaving consumers at risk. Environmental advocates urge for reform, stating that consumers deserve better protection from harmful pesticides.
