Clashes erupt between Pakistani and Afghan forces along the border

Fighting erupted on the Pakistan-Afghanistan border as the Afghan Taliban attacked Pakistani posts, following an airstrike in Kabul by Pakistan. The Taliban claimed to have taken control of two Pakistani border posts.

Clashes were reported at over five locations along the border, with Pakistan responding to the attacks. Afghanistan promised to retaliate against what it described as Pakistani airstrikes in Kabul and Paktika.

Pakistan, however, did not confirm or deny these airstrikes.
