MoU signed for Singapore-India green and digital shipping corridor

SUMMARY

Singapore and India have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to create a green and digital shipping corridor(GDSC). The exchange took place during Prime Minister Lawrence Wong's visit to New Delhi on September 4, 2025.

The MoU aims to develop infrastructure for zero-emission fuels in the maritime sector and promote digital information exchange and research in green technologies. Both nations seek to support ongoing digitalization and decarbonization efforts.

India will leverage its renewable energy capacity, while Singapore will utilize its established port operations for innovation in alternative marine fuels. This initiative aligns with India's maritime goals and builds on prior agreements from March 2025.
