Rubio tells lawmakers Trump aims to buy Greenland

Secretary of State Marco Rubio recently assured lawmakers that the Trump administration's threats regarding Greenland are focused on negotiating a purchase, not a military invasion. White House officials emphasized that "acquiring Greenland is a national security priority."

During a briefing, Rubio downplayed concerns about military action, stating that the U.S. has shown no signs of preparing for an invasion. Most Greenlanders oppose becoming part of the U.S., and European officials worry about aggressive American actions affecting NATO unity.

Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen warned of serious consequences if the U.S. attacked Greenland.
