Catherine O'Hara's cause of death revealed

Catherine O'Hara, known for her roles in films like "Beetlejuice" and "Home Alone," died on January 30 at the age of 71. The immediate cause of death was a pulmonary embolism, with rectal cancer listed as the underlying cause. She had been struggling with a brief illness prior to her passing. O'Hara was cremated, and her remains were given to her husband, Bo Welch. Notably, she suffered from situs inversus, a rare condition where internal organs are mirrored. O'Hara is survived by her husband and two sons.
