Reform MP branded a 'disgrace' over comments about black people in ads

Reform MP Sarah Pochin is facing backlash after saying it "drives her mad" to see adverts featuring black and Asian people. She suggested that such representation does not reflect the "average white person" and criticized the trend as influenced by the "woke liberati."

After the comments drew significant criticism, including from Health Secretary Wes Streeting, Pochin apologized for her "poorly phrased" words. She clarified that her intent was to say the advertising industry has become excessively focused on diversity.

Streeting called the remarks a "disgrace" and emphasized the need to confront racism in all its forms.
