Australia PM delivers address to the nation

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese warned Australians that the economic impact from the Middle East conflict will persist for months. He acknowledged rising fuel prices and hardships faced by farmers, truck drivers, and families. While there were no new policies announced, he highlighted a temporary cut in fuel excise and the elimination of heavy vehicle charges.

He urged Australians to conserve fuel and suggested using public transport if possible. Albanese reassured that the government is working to secure additional fuel supplies. However, he emphasized, "No government can promise to eliminate the pressures that this war is causing.” Prices remain over 20% higher than early March.
