China trains robot dogs for lunar missions

SUMMARY

China is training robotic dogs for lunar missions to support future human exploration. Researchers at Peking University have tested two robotic models designed to gather data below the Moon's surface. They conducted tests in a lava cave that mimics lunar conditions.

One dog, inspired by an anteater, is multifunctional, while the second, based on a salamander, is built for reconnaissance. Both dogs successfully navigated independently and generated spatial data.

China aims to send astronauts to the Moon before 2030 and establish an International Lunar Research station by 2035.
