Brazilian judge suspends X platform after it refuses to name a legal representative

A Brazilian Supreme Court justice has suspended Elon Musk's social media platform X nationwide after it failed to name a legal representative in Brazil.

In addition, the court says people using X via VPN will be fined up to $8,874 a day and orders Google and Apple to remove X from their stores within 5 days.

This move escalates ongoing tensions with Justice Alexandre de Moraes over issues of free speech and "misinformation." De Moraes had previously warned that X could face a block if it did not comply. Brazil represents a significant market for X, with around 40 million users.

The platform criticized De Moraes, stating the suspension was due to his "illegal orders." Musk contends that this is an act of censorship against his platform.
