Trump tells UN General Assembly climate change 'greatest con job' on world

President Trump criticized climate change efforts during his U.N. speech, calling it “the greatest con job ever perpetrated on the world.” He claimed predictions about climate change were wrong, made by “stupid people” who wasted countries' resources.

Trump dismissed the concept of a carbon footprint as “nonsense” and urged nations to abandon investments in clean energy, warning, “If you don’t get away from this green scam your country is going to fail.”

His administration has rolled back environmental regulations and slashed incentives for renewable energy. Recently, the EPA proposed eliminating greenhouse gas reporting requirements for major emitters.
