Gunman shot by officers after killing 3 people outside a Reno casino has died

The suspected gunman who killed three people outside the Grand Sierra Resort in Reno, Nevada, has died after being shot by police. Dakota Hawver, 26, was hospitalized in critical condition after the incident. The victims included two men from Southern California visiting for a bachelor party and a local resident.

Authorities revealed no known connection between Hawver and the victims or the casino. The shooter fired approximately 80 rounds from a legally purchased 9mm handgun and had no criminal record.

The shooting began when he approached the valet area, initially misfiring before targeting bystanders. Two other individuals wounded in the event are expected to recover.
