London police arrest 466 people for backing banned Palestine Action group

SUMMARY

Police arrested 466 individuals in London during a protest supporting the pro-Palestinian group Palestine Action, which is now banned under anti-terrorism laws. The Metropolitan Police reported, “As of 9pm, 466 people had been arrested for showing support for Palestine Action.” The group aims to disrupt operations of weapons manufacturers supporting Israel.

The protest, organized by Defend Our Juries, gathered large crowds despite police warnings. Critics, like Amnesty International UK, condemned the arrests as violations of free expression. Home Secretary Yvette Cooper agreed that while protests are important, support for the banned group is illegal.
