RFK Jnr. demands comprehensive nutrition education reforms

SUMMARY

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and the Department of Education have launched an initiative to enhance nutrition education in medical training. This effort addresses the high number of diet-related chronic disease deaths in America, despite significant healthcare spending.

Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. stated, “We demand immediate, measurable reforms to embed nutrition education across every stage of medical training.” Current data shows many medical students receive limited nutrition instruction.

HHS is urging medical schools to implement stronger nutrition education across various training stages. The initiative is part of the Trump Administration's agenda to lower chronic disease rates, leading up to the 2025 Dietary Guidelines for Americans.
