Minnesota gov. Tim Walz won't seek third term

Minnesota Governor Tim Walz has announced he will not seek a third term amid a growing welfare-fraud scandal. In his statement, he said, “I can’t give a political campaign my all,” emphasizing he wants to defend Minnesota residents instead.

Although Walz has not been accused of wrongdoing, Republicans accuse his administration of failing to address taxpayer dollar misuse. A viral video alleging fraud has intensified scrutiny. Walz is set to testify before a House Oversight Committee next month.

Critics, including Republican lawmakers, claim he has not demanded accountability. State Rep. Lisa Demuth stated, “No one’s lost their job.”
