Judge rejects DOJ request to unseal Epstein grand jury transcripts

A federal judge in Manhattan has denied the Justice Department's request to unseal grand jury transcripts related to Jeffrey Epstein's case. Judge Richard Berman stated that the information in these transcripts is less significant than other materials held by the Justice Department. No victims testified before the grand jury, and the only witness was an FBI agent. Berman emphasized that the grand jury presentation was primarily hearsay.

Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein's former associate, was previously denied a similar request. She is currently serving a 20-year sentence for sex trafficking. Meanwhile, the Justice Department has been criticized for not releasing more documents related to the Epstein investigation.
