Gerald R. Ford Carrier Strike Group enters Caribbean sea

SUMMARY

The USS Gerald R. Ford Carrier Strike Group entered the Caribbean Sea on November 16 to support efforts against transnational criminal organizations and narco-terrorism under U.S. Southern Command.

Adm. Alvin Holsey emphasized the group's commitment to regional security, stating, “Through unwavering commitment and the precise use of our forces, we stand ready to combat the transnational threats that seek to destabilize our region.”

The strike group, which includes over 4,000 Sailors and various tactical aircraft, joins other forces as part of Joint Task Force Southern Spear, aimed at dismantling criminal networks.

Operation Southern Spear enhances security by disrupting illicit maritime activities and supporting U.S. Homeland protection efforts.
