Israel offers full pullout from Lebanon If Hezbollah disarmed

SUMMARY

Israel is willing to withdraw troops from Lebanon if Hezbollah is disarmed by the end of the year. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu praised Lebanon's decision to task its army with this demilitarization. Israel had previously agreed to a ceasefire deal establishing troop withdrawal contingent upon Hezbollah's disarmament.

Netanyahu's office stated, “If the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF) take the necessary steps to implement the disarmament of Hezbollah, Israel will engage in reciprocal measures.”

The offer comes amid intensifying Israeli operations in Gaza while Lebanon struggles with financial crises. The U.S. supports the push to demilitarize Hezbollah, which has vowed to resist.
