FBI raids John Bolton's home

SUMMARY

FBI agents raided John Bolton's home in Bethesda, Maryland, in a national security investigation. The raid occurred at 7 a.m., ordered by FBI Director Kash Patel. Bolton is under scrutiny for allegedly handling classified documents in his 2020 book, "The Room Where it Happened."

The investigation had been previously halted by the Biden administration "for political reasons." President Trump sought to block the book's release, claiming it contained national secrets and violated an NDA. FBI Director Kash Patel posted to X that "no one is above the law," at the same time the raids were conducted.

The probe comes shortly after Patel accused former FBI Director James Comey of leaking classified information in 2016. Patel aims to expose corruption in the federal government.
