Thailand 'halts' peace agreement with Cambodia

SUMMARY

Thailand has suspended its peace agreement with Cambodia following a landmine explosion that injured four Thai soldiers. The explosion occurred along the border during routine patrols, prompting Thailand to halt "all agreements until Cambodia clearly" shows it will not act hostile.

The ceasefire agreement, signed last month with US President Trump present, aimed to alleviate tensions after recent deadly clashes. Thailand accused Cambodia of laying new landmines, which Cambodia denied, expressing concern over Thailand's suspension of the peace deal.

Both nations have a history of conflict over their border and ongoing minefields from past wars.
