Michael and Susan Dell donate $6.25b to fund 'Trump accounts'

Michael Dell and his wife Susan have pledged $6.25 billion to support a new federal savings program, known as "Trump accounts," for American children. This program provides a $1,000 government deposit at birth for children born between 2025 and 2028. Families can add up to $5,000 annually, adjusted for inflation after 2027.

The Dells aim to help 25 million families by seeding accounts with $250 each. Treasury projections suggest these accounts could grow to nearly $1.9 million by age 28, if left untouched. Even without extra contributions, the account could reach between $3,000 and $13,800 over 18 years.
