Nigerian government secures release of 100 abducted schoolchildren

Nigeria's government has reportedly secured the release of 100 schoolchildren abducted from a Catholic school last month. Over 300 children and 12 teachers were kidnapped from St. Mary's School in Niger state on November 21. Some children managed to escape shortly after the abduction.

The Christian Association of Nigeria couldn't confirm the release, stating, "We are not officially aware and have not been duly notified by the federal government." The situation highlights the ongoing issue of mass kidnappings in Nigeria, with over 1,500 students abducted since the infamous Chibok kidnapping in 2014.
