Sadiq Khan racks up enough air miles to fly to the moon and back

SUMMARY

Sadiq Khan, the Mayor of London, has accumulated enough air miles from international travel to fly to the moon and back, totaling over 73,000 miles in eight years. This travel produced about 43.6 tonnes of carbon emissions through 13 flights.

Critics accuse him of hypocrisy for promoting net-zero goals while frequently flying. During recent trips, he took large teams with him, including 23 staff members covering events in New York, Rome, and Paris.

Though he opposes the expansion of Heathrow, Khan continues to advocate for lower emissions, urging Londoners to reduce their carbon footprints. His opponents argue he should focus more on traffic and pollution within the city instead of attending climate events abroad.
