FBI employee sues bureau after being fired over displaying a pride flag

A former FBI employee, David Maltinsky, is suing the bureau after being fired for displaying a Pride flag at his workstation. He had served 16 years and was nearing completion of special agent training when he was dismissed for having "political signage."

The lawsuit claims Maltinsky had permission from his supervisors to display the flag, which represents the LGBTQ+ community and people of color. His suit names FBI Director Kash Patel and the Justice Department, asserting violations of his First and Fifth Amendment rights.

Maltinsky's attorney describes the firing as "an unlawful attack" on expression of identity.
