Denmark bans civil drones after more sightings

Denmark has banned civil drone flights from Monday to Friday due to multiple unmanned aerial sightings near military facilities. This decision follows a week in which drones prompted temporary airport closures, including Copenhagen Airport.

The Danish military reported deploying “several capacities” in response to these incidents. Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen labeled Russia as the main threat to European security, though no definitive attribution for the drone activity has been made. A German frigate is assisting in airspace surveillance as Denmark prepares to host a significant EU summit. The Russian embassy has denied involvement.
