Russia bans Roblox over concerns about safety and extremist content

Russia has banned Roblox over concerns about child safety and extremist content, including LGBT-related material. The media regulator, Roskomnadzor, criticized the platform for having "inappropriate content" that could negatively impact children.

Roblox acknowledged the laws in each country it operates but emphasized its commitment to safety, stating, "We have a robust set of proactive and preventative safety measures designed to catch and prevent harmful content."

Concerns about terrorism-related content and alarming incidents of sexual harassment have surfaced, leading to scrutiny from various countries. Roblox's recent changes include restricting children from chatting with adult strangers.
