Federal Administrative Court lifts ban on right-wing newspaper

The right-wing magazine "Compact" can continue to publish after the Federal Administrative Court ruled its content is protected by the press and freedom of expression. This decision overturned a ban imposed by former Interior Minister Nancy Faeser.

The court had previously suspended the ban, allowing for temporary publication. The magazine, criticized as a key voice for the far-right scene, was under surveillance by the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution.

The court determined that the major question was whether the magazine's claims threaten the Constitution or are protected opinion. "Compact" has a circulation of 40,000 copies, with its online channel attracting up to 460,000 views.
